Maybe with some super-de-duper modding, but I highly doubt it even then. Sorry, that myth is busted.

There are actually some PS games that CANNOT be played on the PS2, mainly because the discs are not strong enough and explode when rotated too fast. The PS2 has a 52x (or so I've heard) DVD-ROM drive, so it is considerably faster than the PS. Check it out on hackaday.

Well in the PS2's setup menu under the "PSX BIOS" selection, there's an option for "Accellerated Loading". If that was turned off, wouldn't it load at 2x? :?

Technically, I bet someone could make something that downgraded the PS2-CDROM games (not the DVD oens though, games like Namco Museum 50th anniversery)
PS360Wii Fanboy FTW!
