yeah thanks for the advice guys i think ill go with a pc, the most i have to spend right now is $200 so an xbox mame would cost me laods more probably. Maybe after i finish this mame ill go with an xbox mame if i have the cash.

This new keyboard and mouse adaptor for Xbox has been getting very good reviews. http://www.lik-sang.com/news.php?artc=3503 They say the mouse will work with all gmes. Who knows if it will work with Xbox MAME emulator however.

upgrading hard drive: cost of hard drive.
You don't end up paying any more than you would for a PC, and you can rig it up to read them off of DVDs to save hard drive space(admittedly not too easy a task.).
It's kinda funny, about when this thread got started a guy at work gave me his xbox to put Linux, Xbox media center, and some emulators on. Too bad I'll have to get it back
