xbox case mod

Post by poppe »

Hey guys. I want to make a new case for my xbox using clear acrylic like the PC cases at http://www.clearpc.ca/ . Has anyone ever made a case like this? Does anyone know where I can get the materials to make this kind of case?

Well, I made a clear case for my computer out of some Lucite and Plexiglass.
I used a plastics epoxy to hold them together, but its not very strong so I'm going to be making a frame for it out of angle iron.

Sounds cool. 8) While I've never made one myself, this guy's article may give you some pointers:

For the acrylic you could probably just ring up all the glass- and/or plastic-supply places in your town and see what they offer.

That would be cool to do, but you would need to make sure the parts are well grounded.

If you are into modded XBOXes, check out these sites from another forum I go to.

clear one that had LEDs put in (scroll down)

I don't know why, but I think these people like the Xbox...

I remember a site where I saw an XBOX built into a lazyboy. Can't exactly remember how I found it (prolly a link in either the Doom Portables or the Nesp links).

I finally got around to making a 3D model of the Xbox case I plan to make. I will be using clear acrylic for the case with a transparent red acrylic X on the top. This rough 3D model shows the case with the X on the top along with four controller ports, an LCD screen, and a DVD drive. The case is going to have a red theme (red acrylic features, red leds, and a red lcd).

Looks good. I especially like the "floating" X idea.

i'm using a SmartXX Xbox modchip. You can connect an LCD to the modchip and a lot of homebrew software already supports it.
