point taken, I'll lay off *l*
Good idea though, even with the aoac (hopefully) on the horizon. I see board construction as the only way to get an actually pocketable, portable system.

I have only one question: Where does the cartridge connector hook up?

That is awesome though, you should have Ben's 3 pot video mod and the stereo mod in future models if it works.

Oh, so he used the chip sockets as spacers and that is what those holes are for.

usbcd36: Also, nice avatar(s). Nice to meet another Megatokyo fan. :)

Sorry if this thread wasn't a good place for this irrelevant post, everyone/anyone that cares, I just saw them both together and wanted to comment on them.

I did all of my avatars myself (about 4 hours of Photoshopping) and I actually made them for another forum (which you can find if you look back to the domain the images come from).

True, very true. I can't even find a simple non-gold plated headphone cable extender, let alone the BA546 audio amplifier IC. An international electronics supply place near my home (when I asked about an op amp) said "we don't stock many electronic parts anymore". Now I know this might be a reasonable thing for a small store that's not getting much business in the parts anymore, but an international electronics supply store? Face it people, our kind are dying out.
