LCD and PSOne draw

Does anybody know how many amps the LCD and PSOne draw, with and without the LED mod? I want to figure out what kind of run time I'm going to get with my batteries.

I'd figure a maximum of 2 amps....it will probably draw a bit less most of the time, but it can draw that much sometimes.

Last time this was asked I believe the answer was ~950mA, you can bring down the power draw if you do the LED mod, that usually cuts it in half.

950 mA for just the screen or for the console and screen?

850mA average for the system, 1A constant for the screen. LED mod reportedly drops screen draw to ~350mA.

This is from testing on school lab equipment. It's a big 'average,' too - during startup, the system draws over 2A for short periods of time. No problem with batteries, though.

Hey Stereth, did you build that adapter to use an RC battery for your PSp yourself? I've been looking for one because I'm too lazy to actually build one.

Yep, built it myself. Parts from Radio Shack. Cost me $3-4, but that's because I had to buy a couple multipacks.

The system CAN'T draw over 2 amps on startup though...the AC adapter can only output 2 amps and that's to power the screen and the system...

The PSone screen actually has a .906 amp draw. Looking through the manual it says the maximum power consumption is 6.8W so 6.8 divided by 7.5 comes to .906 and thats MAX, I can run the screen off 7.2 and less...so the power consumption is even less then that, not the commonly told 1Amp.
