Seriously, somebody should be the point man on the hotel.

I'm willing to be the one to buy the room, but the absolute earliest I'd be able to be there to check us in would be around 6pm on Friday. If nobody else with a more convenient schedule can, I can do it as soon we figure out numbers. Looks to be about $127/night for "four people" in a room with two double beds.

I saw an ad of $82 a night at the Sheraton from Priceline, hoping it went down from the $93 a night it's been at but I guess that's the base price for other dates. Seems to be the same price all over, and the most ridiculous one I saw was a few weeks ago when Travelocity $100 hotel gift cards were discounted to $44 but the Sheraton was listed at $286 a night at the time.

Just so we can have a decent idea of headcount, please state your likelihood of staying in the Suite.

I'm in 100%, no additional guests.

I think I'm going to order the room in the next day or two. We can always get a second if we end up needing it, but right now it's looking like just one.

Booked the room. They were out of the cheaper rooms, so we got a king bed + double sleeper bed. We'll make it work.

So we've got me, Kyle, Lorne + guest, who else!?

According to Joystiq, Hyperkin will be more or less unveiling the RetroN 4 at MGC. It hooks up via HDMI and supports NES, SNES, Genesis, and GBA games. It will allow use of stock controllers, as well as its own bluetooth controller. Color me intrigued.

Hey folks,

I have a Panasonic Q that we're going to be setting up in the Nippon Import Group room near you guys on Sunday. Unfortunately, the Q sounds like it is on its last legs... The fan sounds horrible when you first turn it on, the tray sometimes needs to be pushed a little to the right in order for it to open, and I believe the last time I had it at the show it black screened on me late in the day, probably after overheating.

Would anyone be willing to take a look at it at the show? I'd be willing to pay for any parts/service to it, just give me a rough estimate. Only thing is I'd really like to have it back in one piece and working Sunday so we can set it up for play.

I'll be at the Sheraton already Thursday night prepping things for the morning setup.

Thanks!

If it uses the same security bit screws as a standard gamecube, I can bring those. Sounds like it needs a good internal dusting, but I'll defer to the more experienced modders on that.

I agree, that does sound like it's just dirty in there. As long as people have the needed security bits, I'd be happy to clean it out for ya.

I wouldn't think the Panasonic Q would use different screws than the normal Gamecube. It's the same one I use for the Sega Nomad so there will be means to open the Panasonic Q at the show if it is the same.

Hopefully the fan is just dusty and got cracked or damaged in any way. Have to watch some Q disassembly vids to see of its the same fan as the regular GameCube, I'm sure we got a ton of extras if need be.

That's a good point. Hopefully it's just the same one, or at last the same fan power connector.
