Now if it could play VCD's... It really would be PS1andhalf

I asked about PSone VCD playback a while back, and everyone said it sucks. I think you need a special modchip or something like that.

From what I was told, it's easier to get a program that changes the MPEG files to the PSone format, and then burn it to a CD with another file that makes the PSone think its a legit disc.

From what i've read you can't use the VCD chip with the PSOne screen. For some reson it just won't see the video.
