N64 Special Adapter

Post by Unidentified Assilant »

I thought making my own adapter for the N64, kinda like the Tri-Star, but allowed you to play GB and SNES games (I have no purpose for NES), I found a Multi-Out Pinout on the N64, so, will use that, to play SNES and GB(C) games on my N64, some things to do...

Where can I get a PAL Mini-SNES
It doesn't look there is much chance of getting PAL input into my PAL N64
GBC doesn't output Video

Somebody please buy my Dreamcast >_> £20+shipping :)

...oh dear...

Practicality: realise that you can't do this. It's not as simple as just finding the right pins on the N64 cart slot. Getting the N64 to play SNES/GB games is not trivial, it would require a thorough understanding of the system and a lot of hardcore RE/coding (which I'm happy to bet nobody here is capable of). Forget this idea now.

PAL mini-SNES doesn't exist, anyway.

That's not official Nintendo merchandise, by the way.

lock this, people always seem to try to stop me doing anything these days for some reason, just like the person who called me a dumbass just for mentioning a portable pc, while tom61 is building one.

There was no saying "Hey dumbass, don't be a moron and try this". There was simply explaining that it will probobly not work, and why. Criticism is not an attack.

If you do attempt it, and it DOES work, I would love to see the results.

Even if you attempt it and it DOESN'T work, I'd like to hear that you tried and that it's a dead-end road without huge amounts of coding.

Why not just use the Super Gameboy with the Tristar?

yeah Alchemist, you do kind of act like a jerk towards U.A.....I mean, you post was true, it WOULD be really hard and almost impossible without a huge amount of recoding, but you didn't have to say it so condescendingly-like :P......
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

I'm supposed to be enthusiastic about unfeasible ideas? Wouldn't you rather I told you that it was impossible? And when have I told you any "random crap" - I always try and be concise and to the point. I guess sometimes it comes across as being a jerk, sorry if it does, but I'm not going to start praising ideas that won't happen.

The problem is that it's not unfeasible like you say it is.
Sure, modding a GBC to output composite is unfeasible, but making a tristar type device is fairly easy. They also already have Super Gameboy type devices for the n64 that can play GBC games IIRC.

True, but no way in Nuneaton am I gonna get one, and having parents that unsupports Internet shopping is really unhelpful too.
