just 400? Pah.
Actually that's really good. I think I've got that much (half filled with 1080p Flac Ghibli movies...)
Oh and thread takeover, this is now officially the Anime thread.

most of mine are either standard def AVIs or dual audio OGM or MKV, only have a couple things in HD, i lost probably 15% of my collection in an hdd crash (60 episodes of bleach, and a 1080p copy of akira, among other things) the fact that i'd given all my anime to a friend about a year ago is the only reason i still have what i have. My X-mas present this year from my mom was the Criterion Collection special edition of Akira on laserdisc :D

Laserdisc is the best. Just plain epic.
I've got a friend who's got the Planet of the Apes full collection on laserdisc, plus a laserdisc player.
I managed to find almost all of them in full 1080p. Only one or two are in SD but that's because that movie was never actually released in HD.

I thoroughly enjoyed Cowboy Bebop. That's about all the anime I've ever really watched though, other than things like the Animatrix and Halo Legends.

They both have some good shorts and some meh ones. Depends on the kind of stories you like.

My girlfriend got me to watch a few different series, most of it has been terrible. Cowboy Bebop, Death Note, and Code Geass were all great.

have recently watched claymore and Xam'd on netflix, claymore was REALLY good imo, and Xam'd was at least good enough to hold my attention, which is hard enough to do these days lol.

FLCL is a timeless classic, i've seen most of samurai champloo and a few episodes of durarara and like what i've seen so far. lately i've been watching naruto for some reason  its not nearly as good as bleach but its a long show and makes for good background noise while i work on other projects

I'm a Gundam fanboy.

I own the movie trilogy for Mobile Suit: Gundam
08th MS Team
Char's Counterattack
Victory Gundam
Gundam X

I would suggest avoiding Gundam Wing and G Gundam... unless you really like pretty boys and philosophical ideas of war. As for the newer ones liike Gundam SEED, it was a good modern remade of Mobile Suit Gundam, but haven't seen the spin-offs. Gundam00, looks good I've only seen season 1 so I'll have to see how it turns out.

If you also want some good movies to check out Princess Mononoke, Spirited Away, Ponyo, My Neighbor Tahoro and a few others by the great Anime writer/director. If you really like the stories and style an anime/japanese version of the borrowers called the Secret World of Arrietty is come out in theaters on Friday.

Just to throw a few more good ones: Ouran Host Club, Black Butler, Spice and Wolf and Full Metal Panic (& Fumofu and 2nd Raid).

Happy viewing.

I loved gundam wing and G gundam was OK lol. G-wing is pretty dry and philosophical but still pretty entertaining, and i loved the mobile suit and gundam designs in that series

Watched Death Note when it was brand new in Japan. Hated the ending. Watched Bleach. Got sick of the crappy fillers that started at the end of last year. Started watching Nura:Rise of the Yokai. Got boring. Watched most of Naruto, hated the new fillers, so stuck with the manga. Pretty much watch One Piece exclusively now because they stick mostly to the manga without having to resort to years of fillers.

*bump*

Back from the dead. The last time I was here, someone started arguing with me about anime and John had to jump in to break it up. Glad to see it's more universally accepted these days. This seems like a perfect opportunity to post this: http://myanimelist.net/animelist/ElectricRain" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
