I'm also working on a n64 portable, and i would like to know where i can get a plastic case the same size of the n64's case.(L 7 1/2in.,W 9 1/2in.,H 3in.) I was going to build it in its original case but i i decided i wanted it to be a little more cube/square-ish.

According to grahf on page 2 of the thread posted below, it is not possible to get composite without the extended board, so you would have to connect your video either to that board, or connect through rgb, which is also explained in the thread below
if you're using the ps1 screen, then rgb is definitely what I would go for

but if you're wanting composite, then it would be as simple as connecting the video out on the extended board to the video in pin on whatever screen you're using

oh......duh. Does anyone know a good program to use for designing cases. (not for my n64, but maybe the next thing i do.)
