Seeking old SGI towers, ideally non-functional ones along the lines of a SGI 540 workstation. I intend to do a case mod and build a modern pc in the case.
Thanks,
Reuben

Re: WTB: Silicon Graphics Hardware
Makes sense......its just that the people on eBay sell them for like 600+ dollars in the delusional belief that a computer bought more than 10 years ago will hold even a fraction of its value. Do you know of a forum that specializes in this sort of thing? (I scoured eBay and Craigslist prior to posting this)
Thanks
Thanks

Re: WTB: Silicon Graphics Hardware
well, in a lot of cases 600$ is just a tiny fraction of their original price, SGI hardware is very collectable, just like amiga hardware. some powerPC accelerator cards for amiga 1200 from 1995/6 sell for over a thousand dollars today because they're the best accelerators you can get and nobody makes anything close anymore. as to specific forums google is your friend, off the top of my head i dont know of any

Check out the vintage-computer.com/vcforum/ forum. I haven't checked in there in months, but it used to be a pretty good community of people who were into the old school systems.
