N64 to play cds

Post by Edm1 » Fri Jan 20, 2012 12:04 am

Im new at modding but if i put my mind to it i can accomplish anything.

I have a spare N64 I want to mod, however i dont have the slightest clue on how to do it. sense V64, z64, cd64 and etc. are so hard to find in california im looking to do it my self. I want to know if anyone has tried this before.

I want to install a cd/dvd drive on to my 64 and make it play n64 rom files. If you have done this and it worked please share.

The short answer is that there are no homemade solutions to be done with a disc drive. I'd would suggest Marshall's 64drive which you'd love even Krizz's everdrive 64 (which you'd like). They both take flash memory rather than CD's which is better for this kind of thing anyway.

If you had your heart set on making something run of discs then it'd be easier to buy an existing unit however scarce it is near you. The alternative is years of study in digital electronics.
