As I learned the hard way, when using soldering, make sure not to heat it to such an extent other things start melting :P
I'm in the progress of making a portable SNES too (my first portable too), but am taking it real slow. Good luck!

I've been trying to buy everything on the list on this website but some parts you can only buy in intervals of 1000, How did you buy them? Plus, Are you making your own case or where are you buying one from? More specifically, what case?

its my first time making a portable too. im trying to learn as much as i can before doing anything. im using the mini snes. i was wondering what to do with the black chip that is screwed to the metal plate behind the 8 capacitors. i dont know what it is or what it does but i would like to know. thx in advance!
