Do you plan to manufacture 64drive's for years to come? Or is it likely to be a limited run product? I only ask as I imagine it will get quite tiresome populating and testing hundreds of boards, and although I might not be able to afford one straight away I dont want to end up paying a fortunate for one on ebay in a few years time!
I am under the impression that he will be using $ from making 64drives to help pay for college/etc, so I think it will be continually produced when he has the time to do so.

Already tried google :wtf:

Flash memory has more than one type, for instance NAND or NOR:-
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flash_memory" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Simply saying its 'FlashRAM' tells me nothing about the specific type of memory used

In addition I have read on quite a few occasions that the N64 uses FRAM, which would make sense given the similarities with SRAM, so I was just hoping marshallh could give a definitive confirmation of the type of memory used.

Well that would be great :) Plus its nice to know the profits will be helping marshallh pay for college.

Both, and C buttons for page up/down. You can scroll the entire release list in 3 seconds

Money coming from me soonish. Kinda caught me offgaurd heh.

Might be an idiotic question, but where do I get the games files? Are they just ROMs?

Yes, just regular ROMs

From the FAQ:
"What image formats are supported?
Supports both byteswapped (V64) and normal (Z64 and others)."

So both .v64 and .z64 files will work!

There are plenty of sites on the internet. Yes, they are ROMs. I would post you a link to a good site with many different roms and isos for various systems, but I'm afraid this is not to be done on this forum.

I also would like to say a few words about cartridge region. It's neither your TV which defines the region you need nor the country you live in - it's the console itself! You can have an american N64 with european plug an play on it american games with no problems. The region of the console is written on its bottom on the sticker where the model number is.
So I personally think that linking to the map of TV regions from 64drive website can be a little confusing.

marshallh, I have also ordered mine as soon as I woke up today and saw a bunch of emails stating that pre-orders are available. Now I'm looking forward to see this marvel in action.

Never really dabbled with ROMs. Thanks

So basically we...

1. slim this board and the main N64 board down
2. wire them together
3. throw them into a super small portable that no longer needs an awkward cart slot sticking out the back
4. ????
5. Profit?

And great job by the way. Very great job.
