Is my N64 fried?

Post by drummerockband »

I am new here, but I am on moddedbybacteria forums as well. but i was wondering if my n64 is fried because when i turn it on the CPU chip gets hot in like 7 seconds. it is the cpu chip that gets hot, not the rcp so I'm not quite sure if it's fried or not. if it is not fried, can someone tell me how to fix it? thanks.

The CPU will get hot by normal. Depends though, what you mean by 'hot'.

If you have done a cartridge relocation or any other mod, then there is a short somewhere.

Once it is fried, it is fried. There is no point replacing the CPU. Just buy a new board...
