Broken pins...

Post by JonathanMC » Sat Jun 25, 2011 8:05 pm

I accidentally broke some pins on an N64 board, and i was wondering if they are fixable. I can see the metal i the side of the chip, but im not sure if i would be able to repair the contacts. Has anyone ever solved this before?

Pictures are worth > words. Juuuuuust saying.

Depending on the pins, if you can solder a small wire to the chip, you ought to be able to trace the contact down to another point and solder the other end there.

You broke pins off the chip? I did this once, no twice, and I was able to solder from the rest of the pin (still on the board) to the chip, and it worked.
