i have 3 different xbox 360's and unfortunately, 1 of them has the e-74 error and wasnt under warranty, i dismantled it, cleaned the gpu and heat sink, and replaced the thermal compound, it worked for about 3-4 hours and the picture started going out, restarted the xbox and the e-74 again, i thought maybe i didnt apply a thick enough layer of thermal paste, so i tried again with a little bit thicker layer and after about the same time, it went out again, does anyone know a more permanent fix to this issue, i was thinking it may be the solder balls or something but im not positive, i still dont know too much about it, any help would be awesome, thank you
also i want to hack my other console, my older one that isnt under warranty but still works, its one of the older ones though, im just not too sure if i have all the equipment id need, or if id even be able to make the console case

Re: e-74 error xbox 360
E74 = reball X/HANA IC.
Sometimes to do with the GPU, but unlikely...

You can resolder the 2006 X/HANA IC's as there QFP IC's and not BGA like in the newer ones.
