Max length for slot

Post by SentryP »

Does any one know what the longest length of cable I could use to extend between the nes board and the cart slot? I would like to extend at least five feet.

Thank you for your help

Five feet!? That's a bit overkill lol.

I don't think you can extend the slot much more than a few inches at most...beyond that and you start getting lag.

Most I've ever had to work on both the SNES and N64 was 7 inches maximum. The same principle should apply to the NES.

So 7 in is the longest you tried or the longest you could get to work?

Is there a way I "boost" the signals so I could use a longer cable?

Thank you for your guy's help! This will save me time and money!

It was the longest that would work.

OK this a noob question.
Do you think I could get a longer span if I used "better" cable or a board instead of cable?

Thank you!
