Move over NGP... Introducing the Gamecube Fusion!

Post by Ashen » Tue May 03, 2011 8:17 am

First of all I want to say a HUGE thank you to everyone on the GC-FOREVER forums that helped and supported me along the way to this point. Without all of you, none of this would ever have been possible. Also a big thank you to everyone from the three major portablizing forums for your help and support! That being said, One unit is done!! I must admit, even though there have been some unforeseen "bumps in the road" getting it here. It turned out pretty damn drool-worthy and I'm 100% happy with it.

So without further ado:

Really well done!

The understated color scheme is pretty neat too.

Very nice. Only two minor complaints: the buttons below the screen are crooked, and the start button looks a little out pf place. Maybe I'm just picky.

Great job. I don't comment much on protables anymore but yours is worth it. A lot of finishing detail that sadly doesn't get applied to a lot of portables I see.

Well done

Thx everyone! Feels good to finally be a portablizer after literally years and years of wanting to do it. One more unit to go that I'm doing as a commission and then its time for a (slimmer/sleeker) redesign. Not much different about the second unit except the paint:

I have to say I'm really happy with them for my first go at making portables. I've learned a lot of what and what not to do along the way.

Somehow the quote got messed up. It wasn't Ashen who said that it wasn't perfect , it was the only person on this thread to comment on how things were crooked on it. LOL

Excellent work. How did you attach the case halves together?

It has sidewall retainers that are holding it together in those pictures. It also has screw posts mounted inside that I wasn't using at the time of pic taking. I didn't want to bother installing them until the unit was tested for a few days. Its actually a good thing cause I ran into a little battery issue. Seems the Wiikey I had installed was shorted out previously (by me) and only works off of wall power... Weird I know but w/e, I swapped the wiikey and it works now! Next time I take pics it'll have the screws :D
