And some notes:
I painted it without removing the case,
I left the power button for later (ran out of masking tape),
Custom fan shroud,
4 "super-bright' LEDs on each side,
Custom graphic on the dvd drive,
I did a matching controller,
Mounted the perspex flush (using 'H' tubing),
Eventually changed the RoL to red (match the rest of the mod),
Added a fan control switch (12v and 5v standby, that means i can expel air if the console is off),
Mounted switch in perspex,
The paint colour is the most accurate in the last picture,
This is my first ever mod (im very happy with it!).

Enjoy!

I think he means, 'what is it for?' Is that the wiring for the LEDs?

Very nice paint and acrylic mod. What's the box logo about? My first thought was 'UPS delivered a cube of orange jello.' Not a live cougar, but go with it.

oh ok,
the orange wire in the 4th (?) last pic is for the LEDs, poorly placed, i moved it under the dvd drive in the end.

and the graphic on the dvd drive was just a sticker i had, it was orange and the mod was orange..you get the picture.
i think its the logo for the apple utility for unpacking zipped files.

Thanks for the feedback! :D

I like. I especially like how clean the window mounting is. Where did you find the h tube?
This post brought to you by David Duchovny's glorious nipples.

Great paint job. Did you paint the controller, or did you actually find a pre-made case? does it still do the RRoD if it occurs (you know, just a different color) or would it just not light up? Sorry for the questions. i have a very similar modded xbox and am always looking to improve it

yep i did the controller myself.
and rrod does show up, still in red though.
but i havn't had an actual hardware failure with this box, 2007 purchased, but it has had its fair share of user created errors.. (shorts etc.)
the 12v fan helps a lot with that!

the controller looks distorted because of gamer rage..fixed now though :P

I have one last question. what type of paint did you use? I try to use Krylon Fussion, but for some reason, it won't dry all the way (remains tacky) which makes my controllers look like crap after a little bit of use

Great job dude and this was your first mod? Freaking amazing! Also I have to give you five starts for watermarking your images, a lot of people like to google search images and call them their own. What do you plan on doing next?

Looks great! I don't personally like orange, but that shouldn't stop you (especially when it's this cleanly done).

That means you sprayed it on too thick. You have to do multiple thin coats for it to dry right.

Fight MS Paint abominations! If you don't have a camera, go here, and pick something 3 megapixels or higher.

i actually didnt use krylon (or a plastic specific paint) i used dulux, australian brand

i have actually given up watermarking my pics, to time consuming and i dont upload through my computer, i do it through an app on my phone.
my next project is actually being done as we speak, i have a 360 laptop about 85% complete and a simple case mod im doing for ebay (link to case mod, the laptop can be found through the link in my sig- http://forums.llamma.com/viewtopic.php?f=19&t=41053)

thanks for the feedback guys!

p.s. how can you not like orange john ;)
