standerdized portable extention ports

I never thought that everyone would be able to go, but if a lot of us are in the midwest, it might be worth it to have a small gatheringof some type in Wisconsin or something.

Back on topic though, what do you think of benheck members only having the laser connection or wireless connection. It ould be cool though if someone could setup like an N64 live. Where you plug a game cartridge into the n64 and plug the game into that. you'd have to do some mods to it and have someone setup a server but you that would be so sweet.

With the amount of data lines there would be needed, and the cost of the transcievers that would be needed, wireless wouldn't be worth the effort or the price.

I mean like the ds. It might be expensive though. Maybe you cloud some wifi blue tooth thing. It will probably be to hard though I was thinking it would be a cool idea though.

this seems to be becoming more off a show off then a convetion thing. do it liek the do the xbox-scene conventions. everyone tools into sumones basement, and we all jus build portables with each other

Well who would have a big enough basement to work in, there are maybe 50 of use that can make it.

Sorry, I sit here and talk to people on AIM, and switch back and forth. On instant messenger, I don't care, and neither do the people I talk to. Also, 50? I don't think nearly 50. I could try, but its far, and next summer Ill only be the tender age of 17.

117 (registered) members .Well quite a few of us live in the Midwest so going to Wisconson(sp) wouldnt be that hard. Those like some of our friends in UK (if any), Mexico, and cant forget Australia they're not likely to make it. Besides the first convention is always the smallest.

Stop getting off of topic. Although it's just a lot more work and stuff then a lot of people want. It's one of those things that sounds better on paper then it actually is. I think the best bet is to get a web camera and then we can all talk to each other through that and show are portables and where we are. I think in maybe two years I'd go over summer break but I don't get my liscence for a few months yet. I'm like they youngest in the furoms I think

.Bottom line it sounds great but it's a lot more work then you guys realize.

Well just talking brings us back to the wornderful suggestion of Halo2. Though I know there are some of you that dont have one or will never bring yoursrelf to buy one. As for a web conference... if anyone knows how to set one up we could try that. Web cams are only like $30 for a desent one.

Otherwise many of us have aim and the chat room. Only problem is we arent as scructrued as I'm sure we want to be during those.

Back to the real topic. When do you think the diagram or instructions for making the mod will be ready to post on doomportables?

Does anyone know how the ds's wifi will work. I know that you can play people up to 30 feet away. For that matter does anyone know how to setup hot spot terminals so that people around can acess the internet? These may seem like off questions but for what I'm planning you guys will be amazed. As for the webcam thing I know yahoo messanger has that cabality. If we got that we could setupe some kind of private chatroom for us portablizers.
