Pelican case 360 monitor cabling advice

I plan on using the pelican case idea to create a system to use while deployed this Summer. I am wondering if anyone has input on whether it is better to hardwire the monitor to the mobo, or because of the extra space the pelican case allows for, cut and splice vga cable/port to xbox proprietary cable. I plan on remoting most of the ports on the system, but the less soldering/desoldering you do the less room for errors right? Any input or suggestions at all will be great!
