The Legend of: Shock Slayer (Shock Slayer the Video Game)

Post by Haunted360 » Fri Nov 19, 2010 7:04 am

Hey everyone,

This is a secret game I have been working on for several months for Shock Slayer. No money was asked, no portables were traded - I just did it for you / all the fellow modders across all the forums on the net, for you guys to enjoy a game based around all of our (Triton, Lucid, Limport etc :wtf:) comical humor

Anyway, here is a DEMO Video.

DO NOT EXPECT THIS TO ACTUALLY BE THE FINAL GAMEPLAY/QUALITY!
(However, be sure to expect a few others besides Shock Slayer actually IN the Gameplay / story )

Nah, thats it so far sorry.

It is taking for ever to develop is all...

I am not hated as much now. I guess when I get a completed project out, then that should change.

HAHAHA! That is hilarious!

But I have bad news I am afraid...

I have decided to cancel the development of it for now, until I can build it in a better Engine.

It is terrible actually.

I am sick of Gamemaker, and I am over it now.

It did teach me how to code, but it is just USELESS!!!!!!

I hope to learn UNITY soon or TRUE C++, and when I do - it will be re-started in that for you. This will also allow you to use a joystick (Playstation controller etc) and set it at your graphics setting. So ANY computer (above the technology of the 2005 ere) will handle it.

Thanks anyway I guess...

GameMaker is a fantastic tool for beginners actually, and with it many games have been beautifully created. I would argue GameMaker is far from useless.

Oh believe me. When you get right into the core of programming, it can be harder than standard C.

I mean, once you do get something such as Sonic The Hedgehog for example running 100% like the original in it after 3 years of hard work, and you then start to add the levels in - that is when everything becomes much more demanding in the RAM and load times.

Also with Gamemaker, it seems to never run after complex code has been added on other computers besides the one id was programmed on.

Yes. Good for beginners, but you have to move onto something much better eventually.

This. It's about as powerful as it could be while still being easy to use.

Thus, it being good for a while.

When you get into more advanced programming and techniques, it becomes useless..

Not to impose superiority or intimidation, but I've been programming games and otherwise for years with many languages. What you're saying makes no sense.

You likely do not understand how to use GameMaker to the proper extent, then.

I was not implying GameMaker is the most convenient or efficient way to create a game after a certain point, but you can do virtually everything any other language could do with the help of external DLLs. I was, however, implying that you are a beginner and have no sanction to put GameMaker down at all, especially for creating a game as simple as this "demo" implies.

You Troll...

It makes sense to me...

Gamemaker is mainly useless, and you will one day realize that it has no proper use towards developing REAL Video Games.

I'm pretty sure you don't get to decide to close a topic just because you disagree with someone's opinions.
