It's about time I made a thread for this.
I have started on devileyebrow's PS1 commission a few weeks ago and would like to share my progress so far:
Top of the unit, as you can see I bondo'd in the much more comfortable SNES D-pad.
PSone Lid cover bondo'd on upon request.
It'll be held down with magnets.
Most of the wiring done.
Screen close up.
Batteries close up.
Memory card and wall power jack close up.
7805 with heatsink under the tape.

It is looking good, but what are you using a 7805 for?

IS THE BATTERY OVER THE CPU / GPU???
You do realize how hot the PSone can get. Right? Especially under how many MIPS it typically is calculating.

The 7805 is for the power LED and fan, but I made change it.
And the batteries are sitting on the back of the Psone, because I do know how hot it can get.
And my camera makes everything Sepia toned when you set the picture resolution up.

Re: devileyebrow's Ps1 Commission.
Alright so, I ran into a problem: The battery doesn't output anything unless I give it sort of a jump start.
Everything is hooked up correctly, I double checked, but the batteries aren't outputing any power unless I plug in the original power adapter.
After the power adapter is plugged in the batteries start to output power and the power adapter can be taken out.
What could be causing this? How do I fix it?

check for a short on the protection circuit, it may also require a reset, check the circuits manual/schematic for what pins to bridge to reset it

Well I got the batteries working perfectly!
Now, I hardwired the CD drive directly to the board and ran into a problem: The disc spins for a few seconds then stops.
Should I replace the CD drive?

Woops, my bad Devil, forgot this thread...
Here are the updates:
Relocated all but 3 buttons on the controller.
First coat of primer to find flaws.
There is a bit of bondo that dribbled into the button holes and D-pad which has been removed by now.
CD Drive relocated and memory card ready for relocaiton.

As for the disk not spinning, make sure the pins are correct. I remember it goes backwards. 9-8-7-6... diagonally or something. Its labeled on the board.
Also be sure the lid security button is closed.
