Reflow the packaging too, it never hurts to have rrod proof boxes :D
Joke btw...

Just send it off, it would be better than trying another reflow. The more you reflow a board the shorter the life expectantcy

I have a 360 with the RRDOD sitting on my desk. I have fixed like 3 times already but always gets the red lights again.

Thanks for offering but I think he already has got a new gpu and is reballing a second time this week. If I do need another gpu I will let you know.

Thanks

The person doing the reball has not managed to fix my xbox motherboard. But he said that he will send me another working jasper board for £50 which is very good news, so the xbox laptop project will be continued in a few weeks once I have got the new board, also, does anyone want an old xbox 360 jasper board for spares - eg the components and port connectors?

Cant wait to continue the project!...

I dont know, the person doing the reball said he is very busy at the moment so it might be a while until i get it back. If i do though I would sell it for £10 - is that reasonable or too much?

Thanks

ssmith43654 wrote:Thanks - as the xbox only overheated for a few seconds and because its a jasper do you think I could just fix it with a heatgun(there lot's of videos on youtube showing me how to)?
There really is no way to tell. I haven't had much luck with 0022 consoles, but it definetly won't hurt. My advice: Watch every video on youtube showing you how to do it, and then read everything you can find on google about it. I lost a few consoles because I didn't realy know what I was doing and just followed a reflow tutorial on youtube.

Well if the Xbox 360 DID overheat, it would actually be showing 2 Red Lights.

Sounds to me like one of your Capacitors are badly soldered.

Check them, check the pins / wires are not touching and check any other modifications you have done once more and properly.

If the errors / mistakes were found and now fixed, but the system is still (3) Red Ringing - then a GPU re-flow is in order.

Alternatively, a re-ball will make your Xbox 360 last practically forever...

MAKE SURE YOU USE (PEN) FLUX WHEN YOU DO THE HEAT GUN RE-FLOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

the guy couldnt fix my xbox, but sent me a new one instead, after all this time I got it. I firstly tested it in stock condition. I started taking it apart and modding it. After rewiring the ring of light i plugged everything in.

By accident I plugged the hitachi dvd drive the wrong way around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It showed 3rrod and now the dvd drive is shorted!!!!

I was soooooooooo anoyed with myself as it was the same day I had got it, I felt soo bad.

Now I have to pay(wasting more money) a person to flash a new drive and extract the old key.

Now my xbox will probably get banned from xbox live?

What can I do????!!!!

I feel like giveing up the whole xbox laptop project as I have wasted soo much money and time.

Should I give up and how much money will an banned xbox laptop go for?

Please help, it would be gratefully apreciated.

This is extremely frustrating.....
