Xbox 360/Computer/T.v. Kiosk

Post by sullydude »

Hi Guys, First Post!

I have 4 questions (Appreciated if answered)!

1. Would it be possible to hook a touchscreen monitor to a 360 and be usable?

2. if someone could give me links on basic info of 360 power requirements, size, compatible remotes(keyboards etc...) and hdd max size.

3. where can you buy sheet metal at? i looked at home depot but no luck (size wise)

4. what are some of the best products (in your opinion ) for keyboards, controllers, mice, touchscreen, tv, and and psu, and just basic necessities?

i know this is a lot but i think it'll be a fun project...

thanks in advance!

1. No.

2. Power depends on the version.
Xenon/Zephyr draws 16.5 amps at 12v
Falcon/Opus draws 14.2 amps at 12v
Jasper draws 12.1 amps at 12v

Max hard drive size is now 250GB, as that is the size of the largest official hard drive.

What would you anticipate using a touchscreen for? In theory, you might be able to rig it up so touching the left side of the screen would be like pushing the analog stick left, etc, but I fail to see how it would be of any great use in games.

Edit: If you are doing some kind of XBox 360/PC kiosk hybrid, and the touchscreen would be for PC side of things, then yes, you could have it on the screen, but it wouldn't serve any purpose when the XBox is being used.

I know i'm kind of doubting it now, i was going to use the touch screen for the Xbox 360 dashboard and among other things such as a computer... but i'm not sure now, maybe i will just use kinect instead and have a touch screen for computer

the largest official drive is 250GB
the largest drive is 1TB, you can also hook up a SSD.
of corse this is all done with a jtagged box

Until recently it was thought that the largest drive an xbox 360 could take was 500GB, its been proven wrong;

why would you want a touchscreen? basically pointless
