Bush's tiny N64p: The Whacka 64 (FS/Commission!)
Moderator:Moderators
Hey everyone! I'm new here, but not new to modding, and I'm on ModRetro. I realize there are many members here that aren't over there, and wanted to take the chance to meet you guys and share ideas, etc. I'm currently working on a very small N64 portable (It does need a name, so any suggestions would be great!) that will be housed inside a polycase DC-45P, which is a tiny bit longer and a tiny bit thinner than an SL-68P (Used in SS's TriSixtyFource). I've commissioned someone to cut me a very small board, but I don't have it yet. I do have the case, TI reg, and controller; all the other parts are on the way. I have a few pics of the case and controller, but that's pretty much it for now.
I am using a Tommee controller from stoneagegamer.com, which is amazing, and I highly recommend them. They have excellent analog sticks. I will post progress as it comes along.

I'm assuming you're using a 3.5" screen?
And those Tomme controllers are magical. I bought one from StoneAgeGamer a few weeks ago and fell in love

Ok dudes, im back, and most of my parts came. I will be using this layout:
(imagine an analog stick)
I will probably replace the huge speakers with psone screen ones. Tomorrow I will put the audio amp together...it is in pieces right now.

Re: Bush's tiny N64p
i noticed there's lots of empty space below the screen. plan on populating that?
Re: Bush's tiny N64p
You know it. Probably audio amp and the 3.3v reg. Also a VGA port if it will fit. Also, I mounted the c buttons to the perfboard and tacts:
I will cut off the area with the two other tacts.

Re: Bush's tiny N64p
Ok, this is the last update for the week, I am going out of town. Yesterday, I wired up the audio amp, and today I wired the controller to the tacts. I'm still waiting on my batteries and n64, so when they come, I should be able to finish very quickly. Unfortunately, I don't see myself being able to work on this until the 14.
EDIT: I never pointed out that this unit will be for sale. (just saying! )
