Hmm. This sounds EXACTLY like the google redirect virus. I'm almost positive it is. Look at this website and see if it helps you.

Thanks, like I said, I've seen this virus before, it's just a pain to get rid of! I'll try the advice on the link and report back within the hour!

Okay, I seem to have gotten rid of it using malwarebytes'

EDIT: It stopped redirecting me from google searches and stuff, but it still pops up tabs with random websites still :|

Those are called popups. Have you never had them before?

First of all, you need to set you pop up menu. Or you should uninstall some add-ons from you browser. At last, you can also try it on different browser. I think there is a problem in browser and nothing.

This may sound stupid, but go to firefox.com go to the apps and download the Add-blocker Plus.
If that doesn't work then download Google chrome, it has a few compatibility problems but I'm pretty sure that there are less viruses developed for it.

Otherwise... run a virus scan, uninstall Firefox, reinstall it, load her up. Good Lucks!
