It's not supposed to be that way, but it works. My youngest bro has a SNES with the plug that way as well. It used to have a plug in there, but it fell out. It shouldn't be too much trouble, tho after a while it might get hard to keep the power on with the plug that way. But, it is pretty easy to fix.

are you talking about the missing pins in the cartridge slot? That's normal.

It looks a little bent, but I don't think it'll be a problem. And as for the power issue, all I did to fix it is pull the power cord tight up against one of the sides and duck tape it to get it to stay. WD-40 and duck tape fixes everything.
