What voltages do LCD screens use

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Hi. I need to know how to remove the backlight lamp from a LCD monitor so i can run the screen from less power. How much power do they use. What is the best way to remove the backlight inverter so i can replace the lamps with LED's.

Every LCD screen is different. They do use a huge amount of current though, enough to really hurt you. Removing the backlight isn't the same with every LCD. there will be some similarities, but still different. If you're really unsure and you don't want to waste huge amounts of money frying LCD after LCD, get a genuine PSOne screen and follow Ben's guide.
