Ok I have 2-3 weeks off from school and then really nothing important happening over this summer, might as well learn a new language.
Which of the two, PHP and perl, do you think I should invest my time learning?
And lets make something clear, I hardly know any HTML, so mixing PHP with that is not going to happen.
PHP or perl?

Well, I hear Perl is much harder... personally, I needed to learn PHP for Web design purposes, and I love it. There's nothing it can't do (that I need it to do)! Plus, it's integrated tightly with MySQL if you need databases...
But, Gannon's right; It really depends on what you want to do. PHP isn't very useful offline.
