Help choosing pda

I've basically been looking for a portable computer that's really small. And of course cheap. I've been looking at the nec mobilepro 900. It came out back in 2003 and has windows 2000 on it.

I've been looking for one on a budget ($100 or less) that can
watch standard movies and play music
browse the internet
edit photos in paint
touch screen
word processor
play youtube videos

And I should be able to put a small linux on it.

The Nokia N800 (or N810 if you want a physical keyboard) is probably your best bet. It isn't perfect, but the best I know of for your budget. You might have to go to $~120 to buy one.
The mobilepro has Microsoft Handheld PC 2000 (Windows CE), nothing like win 2k. If you want an x86 computer of similar size, the Toshiba Libretto is the only one I know of within your budget, but it lacks the performance you want.

not linux or any version of windows, but the palm tungsten should do everything you want, it cant play flash videos but if i remember rightly there's a few applications for watching youtube videos, If you want wifi with it the palm tx is the next one up. I once owned a palm tx and i cant fault it, cant remember what its called now but the ms office clone for palm ( it was similar to open office) had a surprisingly good image editor and trial that never ended.

I think I'll wait until my budget goes up. I found the eee t91 to be much more suitable. Unfortunately it's $450

Do you need a keyboard? What kind of touchscreen?
The HP TC1100 (make sure it doesn't have a Celeron) and the Fujitsu Stylistic ST4121 (4121 has indoor/outdoor screen, 4120 has indoor) are both slates that can be had for under $200 and should provide enough performance. They are both Wacom style touchscreens, so you need to use the pen (much better for handwriting and image editing). There is also the HP TC4200 that is a bit faster than the others and is a convertible instead of a slate. They're $200-300 on ebay.
If you want a finger-based touchscreen, that t91 looks like the cheapest tablet you could get, or you could get a regular EEE and add a touchscreen if you don't need the tablet form factor.

My grandpa (sounds old, he's 64) deals in PDA's on eBay. He gave me one to play with, it was an HP Ipaq. Really nice.

Dell's Axim x50 and x51 are probably what you want. The x51v (top model) is fast enough to do Windows Mobile 6 and YouTube, they'll take SDHC cards (with a modified driver), and it has a 640x480 screen with 3D acceleration and VGA output. They stopped making them in '07, so you can probably find one used for $50-$100.

Looks like I'll get the t91. I'll wait a while longer. Or I can get the x51. Just as powerful as the mobilepro 900.

The x51 is ok, but the battery life isn't too great (at least on the x50v). It is by far the best "true" PDA that isn't a phone. I would only get one if you need something that will fit in your pocket. The t91 would probably get a lot more usage.

Yeah, especially since it can run emulators.

i would say thats a jailbroken ipod touch mate ^^

buy a 1g one 2nd hand like i did! cheap but still effective!
