I can't remember the term but I see it as this. People view each other as people or objects. If they use you, disrespect you and generally don't care unless it's to their benefit, you are viewed as an object for them (like a vending machine or a car). But those that will actually care and help you when you need it are the people you hold on to.
As for the jerks of the world. Ignore them, tell them off, just be sure to not have them keep using you. It will (obviously) make you feel better, but you're be a better person and more trusting of others.

Easier way to avoid this: don't have friends.
Seriously, they move away, die, stab you in the back, turn others against you...ect. Not worth it if you ask me.

its not so much dont have friends, as dont be careless with them. i have 2 people i would truly consider "friends". the rest know nothing about me that could hurt me. and if they try to backstap me, i can strike back with so much force they will never cross me again.ShockSlayer wrote:Easier way to avoid this: don't have friends.

Well it all depends on the people who are your friends. I have basically three best friends that I would do almost anything for and last week was a test in friendship. One of my friends had a break up with his girlfriend of 3 years and I banded with my 2 other friends to take him out on the town. Well just consider the town to be painted red because it was a wild night. There is nothing like seeing your best friend smile past his ears and saying thank you for being a great friend for seven years and counting. Even though the last part was alcohol induced, I would never trade anything for it. As for backstabbing friends they can burn for all I care. If they use you, use them back. If not just leave them hanging when they need you the most. What can I say? Life is a beach .
