I won't be very active for the next few months, but heres a lil something I found after some digging. Keep in mind this is half the normal price for Gamecube component cables. It is NTSC. 8)

Good find! These typically go for $70-80+ on eBay (last time I checked at least).

On a Hdtv it is awesome and very noticeable.

I suppose I could just compare the video quality of the Wii against the Gamecube.

The biggest difference is that the colors look washed out, fuzzy, and "white-ish" in comparison to RGB.

I have two PS1 screens that nobody wants to buy, so I'm just going to hook up RGB and Composite to them and post pictures. 8)

Let us know when you figure out how to make the custom IC that's in the cable.

Yep the Gamecube Component Cable had the Ic built in it. And people have tried to replicate it and failed.

And @ thewise1 .... It improves a lot more than color, it also improves resolution and contrast and detail. It's really worth it IF you have an HDTV.

I can post a picture of the difference between the two in a minute using God of War II on my PS2 as an example.
Edit: Here they are:
Composite:

RGB:

Granted, this is RGB instead of component, but you'll see similar differences going from composite to component. The composite picture was a screenshot from my TV tuner, the RGB picture was a picture of my monitor. Obviously this won't completely be fair, but I can't take a screenshot of RGB. The picture I took of my screen for RGB came out a little more red than it looks in real life.

Note the enhanced readability of the text and the general clarity improvement; also, notice the RGB lacks the funny pixel distortions around the edges that are present with composite.

Thanks for the pictures jdmlight! And yeah, its a little expensive but I would say $47.65 is a deal compared to $70 and $80 ones that you see everywhere else.

For gamecube portables, however, I will need to do the RGB mod to the IC chip. Its a very easy mod requiring only one resistor to be added. I don't believe I need to add in Vsync and Hsync for PS1 screens. Someone check me on that.
