It aint gonna burn!
Im gonna finnish by this sunday at the latest, as long as nothing breaks so I'll post pics then.
The book ideas great, but youd probably have to glue the pages together to keep it like a case. Also what would you do for sound. Books don't usually hav eheadphones coming out of them.
By the way, Nice sig FDSMAN. Numa Numa man rocks. He isnt you is he ?

paper burns at >400 degrees, solder melts at around 350 degrees. it will not burn unless you seriously f'ed up.

you'd have to use a glue that is not water based because it will make the pages wrinkle, i think contact cement is supposed to be reccomended to make a book a block. there was a thing in a Boy's life (a boy scouting magazine i used to get) issue about this. i have some googling to do.

i'm thinking of a hardback stephen king, cut in half (except for the spine covering), pages glued together, then hinged. normal books tend to bend (look at a well read softback) when you read them, even hardbacks, so hinged will really reduce strain.

maybe i could be like homer and dremel out a bible to watch TV if i ever am forced to go back to church again... heh, maybe i'll watch the exorcist...

PS headphones would be the best way to go, i just got to figure out how to get the speakers to turn off when the headphones are inserted

I've been thinking about how to cram a GOAC into the Hip Gear screen controller (with cart slot where the shoulder buttons used to be). Maybe the xbox model... It looks roomy enough! :P

Paper combusts at 451 degrees farenheit (never read the book?), which is 200-250 degrees by my guestimation. Anyway its not the combustion temperature you've got to be worried about with electrical equipment, it's the sparks. You should be ok though, given the power source.

what? will i turn into chucky? killer dolls are cool.

i want to use an ironic book for my case, i only wish Bens book was bigger and hardback. that would be so great. or maybe a book denouncing technology.

Edit- I guess I shouldnt say that, or else they'll come after me.

Just use something stupid, like something no guy would be caught carrying.

And carry it in a man-purse? :P

Seriously, maybe krazy-glue a few NES carts together (Super Mario 1 can be had for a dime at Gamestop.) Pringles can? I dunno...

Just use some Goo-B-Gone to get the title off.

And the cardboard box has already been done, try something new.

Carry it in a book about voiding your warranty by openning the case.

Or in a patent/copyright registry, use a NOAC.
