7" Display for Midi Controller

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

7" Display for Midi Controller

Post by fox »

Hi there guys I have a question

Not your normal game controller hack, but I am working on a Midi controller for my music performance setup. I'd like to place a DisplayLink monitor into the top plate of my controller (being built using Livid's BYOB boards) and have seen cheapish Samsung U70s -- so i don't have a laptop screen between me and the audience.

Does anyone have a photo of the U70's insides so I can tweak my preliminary drawings, Specifically dimensions of the distance between the edge of the PCB and the screen and the screen display area. Its tight between the knob and the monitor and i may need to widen the thing.

Incidentally I use a milling machine and hack my controllers out out of blocks of Aluminium to match an earlier controller build. Its a good way to make sure they are solid and don't flex about -- and they last.
