There are plenty of programs available that combine multiple instant messaging systems. We don't have to use AIM. I'm not 100% against setting up a chatroom - I'm just saying that there are very easy ways to instantly message each other if you just want to shoot the breeze.

I think that we could do this, but have multiple small chat rooms with a limited amount of people, but one big one that spambots can get into, and that the only one they can get into.

A web based chat room will always have spam problems, unless strictly integrated with phpBB. Since I couldn't find any information pointing to an (active) BH IRC channel, I have set up #benheck on irc.esper.net. Feel free to drop by.

I like the aim idea best , No way to stop the trolls or noobs but an aim chat room would at least get rid of most of the spam. Might be different for you but from where im standing msn seems the sot popular so im gona make an msn . Go to MS to do that, but where do i go to make an aim, isnt it an aol thing ?

What about a Google Wave? I know not that many people have it, but I'd be willing to sacrifice some of my invites if an official wave would be created.

why not just setup an IRC channel? easily accessible. easily maintainable. You can get IRC plugins for most browsers and most external clients are pretty lightweight.

ive never used irc apart from ones integrated into webapges, but from my small experince i cna say that conversation ebcomes very confused and it is filled with spam.

If a spambot finds a chat room. He Kills The Chat Room.

The forums would stay the same.
Maybe We could invite people to chat with us. with some sort of ban feature.
