Xbox laptop.

Post by Helpplease »

I have finally started my Xbox laptop project.
Haven't built that much on it, replaced the coolers and built a VGA test cable and flashed my BIOS with a VGA one.

Had to add a power connector for my second cooler.

Gonna solder my pico PSU later this week.

Where did you get those heatsinks? I'd probably like to use something like that.

i am also interested. If I cannot get a replacement CPU clip (might have a line on one) then i'll have to do a similar mod. Are you intending on wiring the rear fan at all? Or is that not in the plan? May want to put a LPC header into the LPC slot..

I used coolers similar to the Vantec Iceberg 4 cooler, but as I live in Europe and didn't want to import them I looked around for something similar.
It's a Revoltec VGA Cooler Type Two, but if you can't find any of the heatsinks just look around for ones that fit the nVidia GeForce4Ti 4200-4800 SE, nVidia GeForceFX 5600 Ultra series.

I will have some fans for pulling in/out air in the case, otherwise it might overheat.

What's a LPC header/slot? The holes for soldering a modchip?

LPC header = where the modchip holes are..

thanks for the tips on the fans... what did you use to bolt it through? obviously bolts, but are the holes there pre-existing?

Did you have to use washers/nuts to get it all anchored in?

The holes are the ones that held the plastic frame that was around the old heatsinks. Used springs from a few pencils that I put between the bolt and the coolers to keep them better leved.
