High resolution 2.5" screen WITH speakers! That sounds quite tempting, even for about 45$/32€, one might think that it's worth trying. That's what I thought at least and I did buy one, and got it in the mail today. Now let's look at this "high resolution" screen a bit closer;
Well, there are definitive pros and cons; What's good abttu this screen is that it does indeed come with (though only mono) speakers and an audio amp and it runs on 4.5V - 12V making it perfect for pretty much any portable in terms of power, what's bad about this screen is that it is a piece of crap. It has volume, brightness and color control. Wait, color control? Why would it need color control? What is this, the 80s?
Oh believe you me, it does need color control, the designers of this screen knew exactly what they were doing when they put it in, these evil devious copulate bastards knew precisely why they had to put this in.
I will now show you a short video of the screen in action;
I hate to see something so wonderful like super adventure island displayed on something so awful as this piece of crap screen. The camera is not causing the flickering. The camera is downplaying it, it's worse in real life. Believe me, the only way to make this screen barely bearable to look at is using it in black and white mode. Apparently it generates colors by flashing one elementary color and then the next.
Then the video distorts and completely loses it's crap at random and the only way to fix it is to turn off the video source and turn it on again. I would rather pay a lumberjack to repeatedly punch me in the crotch than to buy another one of these screens, it is the absolute worst abomination in terms of quality I have ever laid my hands on.
I would recommend it to people who hate themselves and everyone else to stay the copulate away from this screen.
