Acquired one of these from the goodwill today!

Now I'm just liking to know if there is anyone out there that would know the pin out on the lcd itself.
I could get some good macro picture of the boards inside.
If it is possible to have this screen run as a stand alone unit so I could plug various video components into it, it would become an great piece of hardware in my toolbox.
Oh, and hello all to everyone here on the forum.

Re: Digital Labs screen help! And hello all!
I drew out which labels go to which test point.
+5VIN: Put 5volts here
VCOM: Voltage(common), this should be ground
AGND: Analog/audio ground
COL1: Color adjust
BRIT1: Brightness
CONT1: Contrast
ON/OFF: Self-explanatory
Y/CVBS: Either the Luma(Y) part of S-video, or composite video depending on what it's set to
CIN1: Chroma(C) part of S-video
MODE1: Either widescreen/fullscreen stretch, or NTSC/PAL select
AV: Either widescreen/fullscreen stretch, or NTSC/PAL select
SDA1: I2C control
SCL1: I2C control
Your next project is to put your multimeter on DC Voltage mode and find out what MODE, AV, COL, BRIT, CONT, On/Off etc while it is running. The image control signals may range from 0 (ground) to 5v (Vcc), or they may be digital.
The i2c interface may allow the screen to have its parameters set over a serial bus instead. I saw an i2c eeprom on the screen PCB, it may be hooked up to it. You shouldn't have to worry about this.
From what I can see, you can use either composite video or S-video with this screen. If you have an oscilloscope, put it on the Y/C points and see if you get anything while it's runing. CVBS = composite video

Well I have the screen connected up to a 5volt power source on the 5vlt and ground, but I do not have any light from the screen, I can feel some warmth from the main chip, but I have no light from it.

Re: Digital Labs screen help! And hello all!
I am not too confident of this screen working since I did get this unit from a goodwill.
I am going to try and find a working unit in the future though with a decent screen.
When I do, I will bring it up on the forum and post up pictures of its workings.
As of now, I cant afford another screen for any use, so I am stuck high and dry for the time being.
Thank you for all your know how and help.
Great place to be.

Hold on. Input some video. Is there a very dark, almost invisible picture on the screen? If so, just the backlight is fried. You could fix that. Then there's the chance that you just need to hook it up differently. Did you test the unit before taking it apart?

Re: Digital Labs screen help! And hello all!
I didnt have anything that could input video to the unit, not to mention that before I got the photos in a friend of mine thought hooking up a large 8volt battery to the terminals would make it work.... and I could smell a fried circuit for sure.
