WANTED: Talented RELIABLE person to finish Hack2x!

Post by Triton »

I am looking for somebody to take over the Hack2x project that I have been working on, or more accurately NOT been working on, for a great deal of time. the buyer has agreed to this and is willing to pay a decent amount to whomever takes over the project assuming it gets finished in a timely fashion. for a fairly minimal amount of work you could stand to make a decent chunk of change! the gp2x needs the following

*minor plastic/paint repair to the front of the shell
*a new wedge of light made (probably)
*Dpad rewired and installed
*LEDs installed for the wedge of light (very easy to do)
*USB ports installed and tested
*battery installed
*headphone jack and speakers installed
and thats about it that i can recall off the top of my head! Persons interested in taking up my offer post in this thread with your applications. include in your post examples of your previous work, when you are able to start on this project, how fast you think you can do it, and any questions you may have! Thanks in advanced! as a refresher here are the pictures of it when i did the test assembly

its a gp2x, hence why it says gp2x in the description. :P
also, you have two posts.

as for the problems with it, its just not quite professional enough yet.

its a heavily modified GP2x by gamepark holdings (as samjc3 so kindly pointed out). the usb ports are a custom addition as well as the wedge of light and other features listed. most of the work that needs to be done is pretty straightforward. soldering the connections for the Dpad, usb hub, headphone jack and lipoly battery. the case damage is pretty minor, the plastic below the lcd and above the wedge of light is cracked , and below the wedge as well, it would need reinforced a little with liquid abs/ABS cement and the paint redone in that spot.

Please tell me more about the paint work. Would a complete re-paint be necessary because of it being glossy? And would the paint be provided?

Also the wedge of light. What was it for and why was it added?

I might can fit this in.

a full respray shouldnt be necessary, just the damaged areas after they have been repaired. shouldnt be too hard to match the red with rattlecan spraypaint then clearcoat over it and blend it in. and the wedge of light is just an opaque peice of acrylic plastic (from an old backlight diffuser) shaped to fit and lit from behind by LEDs as a cosmetic enhancement.

So the wedge of light sits over the screen? And that doesn't ruin it's visibility?

 My bad I am utterly unable to defend my lack of intelligence in not noticing that.

I'll do it Triton if no-one else feels the urge to :)
