Re: Using AA power
OK. Have you made any portables
Re: Using AA power
I'm in the middle of making an NES laptop.
Re: Using AA power
If you have to ask how many batteries to use, you're probably not ready to make a portable. Clarifying is fine, but needing to be spoonfed info and have your hand held through the whole process isn't the best way to build a portable.
Read. Read lots. 97% chance someone has had the same question/problem as you, and you learn how to avoid mistakes you haven't done yet.

Re: Using AA power
Pleaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaase can you tell me how many d batteries I should use ???????
Re: Using AA power
I think each D battery is around 1.5v and you need at least 7.4v to run the system. I have no idea what the capacity of a typical D battery is but im guessing comparitively not much compared to a standard li-ion or li-po battery.
Take a read of this

Alternativly if you dont want to wire anything buy a camcorder battery like this one
http://cgi.ebay.com/New-Battery-for-Can ... 5ad44bcb3e" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Pop it open and your ready to go, just dont damage the protection board or they will explode
If your still unsure then you shouldnt really be playing around with electrical items in the first place!!!

Re: Using AA power
If you really are 10, how are you getting the money to build this? Parts alone can easily cost $100, plus another $50 for tools (if you don't have any). Will your parents even let you use a soldering iron/other tools required? Do you have any of the skills required?
I'm not saying a 10 year old can't do it, it would just really surprise me if you could.
