Re: Using AA power
If you want to run your N64 portable for a little less then an hour, go for it.

This. A rechargeable battery would be a good investment. Or maybe go to C or D.J.D wrote:If you want to run your N64 portable for a little less then an hour, go for it.

Re: Using AA power
Alkaline AAs won't run your portable for anywhere near an hour.
Rechargeable AAs will run it for 1.5 hours max.

Re: Using AA power
I tried powering one with 6 rechargeable ones and it failed miserably. I fully charged all of them and it ran for less than 15 minutes.
Re: Using AA power
Would i have to wire the + and - side of the AA batteries to the n64 and the desolder the AA batteries to charge them?

Re: Using AA power
Normally you can't even solder to batteries. I don't know why but you can't solder to batteries, they have some kind of protective layer on it. You would have to buy a holder, those are made to switch batteries in and out.
Re: Using AA power
You can solder to batteries but you have to scrape the metal a bit or sand it. The solder will flow right onto the metal after that. Though, it's not a very good idea to solder to batteries or heat them up for extended periods of time, I should listen to my own advice......

Re: Using AA power
1. In case you're insane and want to solder straight to batteries, use flux and a high wattage iron (at least 60 watts) to heat the area in a short time. If you keep it on too long the battery will vent/explode.
2. AAs (rechargeables especially) have a high internal resistance, and so cannot be discharged very quickly. Using a set of sub-c cells will get you much better results.

Re: Using AA power
Well, I need some sort of C/D battery holder, so when it dies I can just take it out, charge it, then put it back the play the N64p again.
Also, I do have Harshboy's wiring diagram.AND I am 10 years old.
So I really to know this stuff.
