Admit defeat?! What kind of portablizers would we be if we did that?soundwave wrote:Why cant this stupid thread just die? Seriously, its not possible to make a reasonable XBOXp.
Seriously though, if I had a working Xbox I could do it for sure. No, really I'm serious.
It would hafe to be wall powered though.

so, how many amps does an x-box draw? just wondering (i think my backpack idea had merit) if i had an Xbox or could get one REALLY cheap i might go for it

The Xbox uses abotu 2.2A so really your only option (if you dont want a broken back) is high capacity Li-ion or if you have access to gold Lithium Poly.

I am a geek.
I think my phanny pack thing would work. Each pack having like 6 or 9 amps each.

Well my idea would be to have two or more belt packs that each had three RC car batteries, so each pack would have 9 amps of power, so you'd have 18 amps, which is like 6 or 7 hours of playtime. But 6 RC car batteries is like 90 or 100 dollars, so youre set pretty far back.

Yeah, like I said, it's not very practical to make a portable X-Box, I was just saying battery power is kinda the lesser of two evils in this case.*o* wrote:but is there a point its not portable like the ps2p of n64p is there any reason for it (BTW if you do it use a ps1 screen it wont look good on the hipgear screen)

Unless I'm misstaken...bicostp wrote:Uh, how about a Hip Gear controller (un-modified) connected to a backpack-mounted Xbox mobo? (Still puzzling over power, maybe a generator on an oxygen-tank cart? )

Why would you use a rinky dink Hipgear screen on with one of the three new systems? If I bothered to do this, I'd want atleast 5 inches.

well my backpack idea was a little different and less joking than yours lol, and i was thinking spotlight batteries they are fairly small and could be in the backpack because the xbox modified as much as possible to cut down weight (remove case and replave with smaller do CF mod etc)
