Possible low battery indicator

Post by joeafro » Sun Nov 29, 2009 10:25 am

So i was on ebay and came across this.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Lipo-battery-Low- ... 3efa90763d" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What do you guys think, could it be wired into a battery circuit? I know the buzzer would be annoying but that could easily be removed. And you would be left with an led battery meter. Pretty cool if it works!?

Yes, but I believe it only works with a 14.8v battery... find one that works with lower voltages?

It says it can be used with single, dual or 4 cell configurations, 4 cell being 14.4V.

I made a guide for a low battery indicator, it can be made with only a few components and the mk2 version will work for any battery type, you might find it useful.

Hmmm i took a look at your guide, but i think its out of my skill range. Plus the ebay thing is kinda cheap.

If the ebay one would work how would i wire it?

I always used the screen as the low battery indicator, because when the battery starts to get low the image on the screen starts to fade and get distorted which tells me that I need to save my game quick and then put it on the charger.
