My Portable YOBO

Post by PK_421 »

I am going to be trying to make a portable NES using a top-loading YOBO and a 2.5" Pustom dealextreme screen but I have a couple questions before I start.

Does the video out from the YOBO need amplified using the method in Ben's book? Or is that handled already by the components on the middle board of the YOBO?

Has anyone measured the draw of the 2.5" Pustom screen yet? I searched the forums for references to the Pustom screen, but I couldn't find the answer to this.

Lastly, is there a good way to test the Pustom screen to see if it works before opening it up? It came in a beat up little box, so I wanted to check before voiding any warranty I may be entitled to. I have a Radioshack 800mA Power Adapter, but I don't know which Adaptaplug attachment would work to provide power to this screen.

Thanks in advance for any answers or advice.

No it does not, you can get the video right off the middle board.

As for the other questions, sorry, can't help ya there.

The Pustom 2.5" screen is advertised to work at 12v, but I got my to work off of 6v with four AA batteries.
