No point in a 7805 for 5v, that's what's there already. The 3.3v line can be achieved with $2 in parts and a free sample, plus fifteen minutes tops of soldering.
Keep it up, Kibble!

Well, I have somewhat good news.
IF everything goes well and nothing gets in the way to stop me, we may be seeing the prototype board as early as sometime this coming week. I didn't realize that most of what's left to do on the board is just throw in some decoupling caps here and there. Pretty much all of the signal connections are done and I have been spending the past few hours working on getting power and ground to where they're needed and tidying up some of the uglier traces. I find it kind of hard to believe that it's almost there! Now, "Will it work?" is the big question.
When I go to assemble it, I plan on doing one section at a time, beginning with all the power related components and testing them before moving onto the next step.

Kibble thanks for the updates and I hope your project succeeds! It's obvious you know what you are doing and it's nice to have intelligent modding discussions here.

My samples came today! I wish I had spent the 5 minutes I'm on the forums each day to make that proto memory card in eagle rather than posting
Oh well, I'll get around to it eventually.

My thoughts exactly. Kibble, is it okay if we come over to your house and just hang out and look over your shoulder while you work on this stuff?thewizdawg wrote:Kibble thanks for the updates and I hope your project succeeds! I don't mind but, it's like a 20hr drive from "Ooooooklahoma where the wind..." Of course then my gf is gonna be wondering what all these people are doing here watching me work on stuff.

Pix or it didnt happen. You can't be good at stuff like this and have a girlfriend.kibble wrote:I don't mind but, it's like a 20hr drive from "Ooooooklahoma where the wind..." Of course then my gf is gonna be wondering what all these people are doing here watching me work on stuff.![]()
All joking aside, this looks insane. I can't wait to see your finished results.

BTW, the board design is 99% done. Now I'm just checking it for small mistakes/errors and just looking to see what could be improved on it.

Here, have some cheesy poofs instead!blaze3927 wrote:but muuuummmmm i want it naowwwwww

I've checked the design and everything seems pretty much ok now.
I bought a blank, double sided FR-4 board and will be printing out my transparencies soon. Sorry for the suspense, I'm hoping to have something to show soon! I just don't want to mess up somewhere because I'm trying to rush to get it done.
