There has been a homebrew project to build an adapter to do this recently: http://slotcover.wordpress.com/2009/03/ ... b-project/

Best/easiest way is probably to gut a USB controller and squish the guts inside the CC, then rewire the whole sucker.

Use Glovepie, I think it should be detected as a regular Wii classic controller. It might be more convenient to just use a SNES to USB adapter though so you won't need the wiimote attached to the controller while you play.

My way is easier :D

I didn't read thru this entire thread but I have come up with a solution for both your problems. There is a wired classic controller for the gamecube but not many people know it though. You can buy it from dealextreme.

and then you buy a gamecube to usb adapter and your all set.

One problem with those Wii pads with Gamecube plugs is that they are probably Gamecube guts stuck in the Classic's shell, and if that is actually the case then its likely the extra Z button or a Select Button won't be functional, as Gamecube had neither. Also, this guy - http://stremlau.eu/wiki/Classic2USB" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - has made an adapter like you're wanting, although it could be vastly improved if it had two player support, and instead of such short cords top connect to, it had something like two 6ft cords running out the front of the box for more reach.

Or he could get the Datel Retro Wireless Controllers, since they don't need the Wii-Mote, they connect to Bluetooth on their own, although I'm not 100% sure they will work either, since I have no experience when it comes to Bluetooth / Glovepie on PC.

After lots of googling, I found out that those Wii pads with the gamecube plugs are made by some company in hong kong called Swei. Perhaps we could email them and ask them to make something like what we're wanting. - http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r243 ... roller.png" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - http://www.swei.cc/main/page.php/us.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Well at blockbuster, I've seen like nyko classic controllers (Either nyko or some other 3rd party company such as i-con), for like $20 that look identical to Wii Classic Controller, but plug into the GC slot.

Mayflash say they will make the Classic Controller Wii to PC USB adapter sometime around the end of September or October. It will be a direct to USB adapter, so it won't require all that extra stuff like the Glovepie + Wii-Mote + Bluetooth method...

I just want to let everyone here know that Mayflash has just released the wireless version of the Wii Classic Controller USB adapter, yes it is HID and plug & play, and yes it will work with PS3.

The unit takes 3 triple A batteries (despite the little mix-up on the packaging that says Double A's).

For the moment, the adapter can be bought for $17.90 w/ free shipping on Ebay, but that price may be subject to change.
