TI-Boy SE - Gameboy emulator for TI-8x calculators
Moderator:Moderators
With a lot of black magic, this guy calc84maniac managed to pull off this amazing feat... A Gameboy emulator for some of the Z80 based TI-8x calculators. (TI-83+SE, TI-84+, and TI-84+SE to be precise)
It's slow and glitchy, but some games are actually playable, and it even has sound!

What?!
I know there was one for some of Ti's higher end calcs (Voyager 200, etc), but this?!
... Awesome.

Oh, WTF why is my calculator (TI-83+) not supported!

Boring answer, but because it doesn't have enough RAM.Aguiluz wrote:Oh, WTF why is my calculator (TI-83+) not supported!

Well, it's nice that it can run on my 84+...
And in fact, it does surprisingly well with the handful of homebrew demos (including my own) that I tried.
I just wish my calc had the dang storage to support a real game!

I wish it could be on my 73 explorer...

You can hook up USB drives to the 84+. I think you just need a driver and an adapter.jleemero wrote:I just wish my calc had the dang storage to support a real game!

I know it has USB-OTG capabilities but flashdrives?!
I gotta look into this...
Re: TI-Boy SE - Gameboy emulator for TI-8x calculators
Even if it does, it won't help the emulator... Since a USB stick is a secondary storage from TI-84's point of view, the access time would be horrible.jleemero wrote:WHAT?!vskid wrote:You can hook up USB drives to the 84+.
