Re: FS: Hotel N64 controllers/system
there are none that are the gamecube style, i checked. As far as the TV, it is a standard TV apart from the phone jack that the LodgenNet control box(the black box) plugs in to. The LodgeNet box doesn't look to have anything similar to a N64 board inside. Im not sure where the hardware would be but it isn't inside the TV. The insides of the controllers do show some differences though, here are some pics. The L, R, Z buttons are different slightly, and the board is free from as much clutter as the normal N64 controller board. Seems the expansion bay requires quite a bit of chip space.
in the 1st pic between the Left and Down buttons on the directional pad you can see that the board is made by HORI, i may be wrong since i havent taken a N64 controller apart for some months, but i dont think the original ones are made by HORI, can someone verify?

Re: FS: Hotel N64 controllers/system
I sent a message to the guy who made all those posts about the lodgenet controller here
http://s9.zetaboards.com/Nintendo_64_Fo ... q=lodgenet" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I asked if he took the picture of the thing with the n64 expansion pack and if so where did he get it. I'll post back if he responds.
edit: I found the patent for this
http://www.google.com/patents?id=vRUoAA ... _0#PPA2,M1" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
on page 2 it shows the diagram of how it works with the snes and I'm assuming its the same for the n64. It looks like the n64s are probably in some where they would keep all of their networking things. If at all possible (that is if you can still buy from this hotel) ask to see their networking stuff, maybe they would show you the n64 as well.
I believe the n64s are actually in the hotel because, lodgenet would have dropped support by now and if you look at this page towards the bottom
http://contracts.onecle.com/lodgenet/ni ... 5.12.shtml" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
you can see when they do a report they have to say how many consoles the have / minutes played etc.
It appears to run through a computer too so if they have any discs lying around your probably going to want to check into it.
Also I think theres something about royalties to nintendo. Wonder if Nintendo still gets to see any of that.

Re: FS: Hotel N64 controllers/system
The N64 won't be in the TV, The racks of N64s will be somewhere else in a room in the hotel. From what I've learnt when you pay for a game it connects to the main lodgenet server (Offsite) and then downloads the game to the ram connected to the N64. Now heres where I'm guessing, The video is sent to the tv from the cable for all your tv channels and the the controller is sent to the n64 just through the RJ25 connector through the tv then into the set top box then into the wall.
I've researched quite hard on lodgenet systems through boredom and feel I've learnt a hell of a lot about them.
EDIT: Just remembered that I read somewhere else that there is a computer in the n64 room as someone was saying that they saw a lodgenet employee go in with a cd and I presume uploaded new roms to this computer which throws my offsite lodgenet server theory out the the window really.

Re: FS: Hotel N64 controllers/system
And the whole thing I just said about the patent and it being directly connected to the computer which does run games from discs

^^^thats the snes version
I've heard from various sites that the hardware for the n64 (ram and stuff) is in the tv while the games run off a hardrive in some main server, so the ?N64 is in the tv basically

Re: FS: Hotel N64 controllers/system
So, instead of skimming through the posts and getting confused.
Who has dibs?
And are there any lodgenet controllers (with the lodgenet box), that havn't had dibs called yet?

Re: FS: Hotel N64 controllers/system
i went back again today because they are opening a new floor everyday(1 more floor to open new tomorrow). I managed to collect 3 more controller today. so i now have a total of 6. Dibs will be placed as a first come first serve through PM's, to be fair. im checking shipping rates but i think i can sell them $25 shipped as long as it is continental US, but i have to verify rates. i dont know where to main control room would be at in the hotel and they have a few rooms blocked off that you cant enter, i would think they would block off the control room.

Tell them what you want the control room stuff for, ask whoever is in charge. If you are nice, they may help you out. Also, check the hotel web site and see if you can find the name of the old manager. Call him and ask where it is!
Excellent

Re: FS: Hotel N64 controllers/system
yeah, If you ask around I'm sure at least 1 employee knows about it.
Also could you check if there is a patent number on the controller?

Re: FS: Hotel N64 controllers/system
well i had wanted to ask someone about the control room but the liquidation sale is being done by and independent company from Ohio( i live in KY) and i think that only their employees are there. i plan to go back and see if maybe a manager or previous owner is there to oversee things, but i doubt it since the city bought the property and the hotel has been vacant for the last 6 months. as far as the patent number it is D376,826.

I'd be interested in a controller, box, and N64 boards if you are able to get ahold of them

Hey if you do get a couple n64 boards with the cartridge emulator things you should put one on hold for me (although I probably couldn't afford it)

Re: FS: Hotel N64 controllers/system
I'd print out the picture of the n64 with lodgenets board plugged in to it to show them what it looks like rather than trying to explain it. Even if there not selling them try to get in just to take pictures. The internet would be very thankful if you can!!
Re: FS: Hotel N64 controllers/system
well i spent over an hour snooping around at the hotel and asked 3 different workers about the PPV(im sure the N64 parts would be in them) units and they all said the same thing... that the company comes in and removes the units. I searched everywhere in the basement and behind the front desk and came up with nothing. So im just able to sell the controllers along with a few of the Lodgenet black boxes.
